Benefits:

Beyond simple one-to-one representations of your products in Second Life, it’s possible to make your products bigger than life, to focus on specific features, to create an interactive display or item users can take away with them, or to create an entirely unique activity that will help create recognition & rapport with your cause.

Limitations:

  • When Second Life first gained popularity, ‘Build It and They Will Come’ was a mantra that seemed to be quite common among businesses who wanted to reach out to the public and establish brand recognition. This is still, to some extent, a viable strategy, but continued viewer engagement demands a unique, interactive experience and success under these circumstances should be gauged based on project goals.
