Enter Canyon and Desert

It’s been a little while since I last made any updates. Part of that has been because I’ve been working on a wholly different landscape within Organica.

Many of you who are familiar with what I make will have noted that the majority comes from temperate or boreal regions of the world. While I will continue to make new products along those lines, I’ve decided to diversify the product offering and provide a new area of the sim to explore. When TPing in to the sim, you should find a directory nearby – just ensure all move locks/assists are turned off, then click ‘The Desert’ to be teleported to the new area. Alternatively, you can also use this handy SLURL to reach it directly: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Organica/148/130/1001

Please note – the majority of this area is built with mesh assets, so please ensure you are running a viewer which supports mesh (or all you’ll see are giant spheres).

The new area will be largely explorable, with a small vendor area near the landing point for purchases. If you need help finding anything, please let me know.

With that out of the way, here are a few new releases:

Trees available mod/copy and mod/trans, cactus and gas pumps available mod/copy only. Please remember you can give any item in Organica as a gift by left-clicking the vendor box first to get the gift dialogue 🙂

Two home items, one new tree!

There are a number of new releases this week!

This is a bookcase made from sculpties, so you’ll need to rez items on the ground then place them on the shelves. Low prim, Asian design, realistic lighting and shadow base. Great for your home! Available mod/copy only.

This is both a decorative and functional tea set. Scripted and unscripted versions of the teacups are available (for wearing) and it’s possible to make the teapot steam when clicked. A pouring gesture is also included so you can pour tea while holding the teapot in your hand. Available mod/copy only.

Folks who have been following Organica for a while may recall a couple of Acer tenuifoliums which were made many many moons ago and which were relegated to the discount wall. Well, finally I’ve gotten my act together and put together a new version of that tree; it’ll be known by its more colloquial name, the Full Moon Maple. This new tree comes with sculpted foliage and more efficient trunk. The foliage has also been completely redone to take advantage of the sculpt type most of my trees are made with now. This tree comes with: green, ‘turning’ and red versions (unscripted), foliage changing (scripted), and particle emitting (for leaf drop) on the ‘turning’ and ‘red’ versions. Available mod/trans or mod/copy.

As always, all products are available for purchase at the Organica main store.

HG&P Expo Highlights

Despite my previous post about the HG&P Expo, I really should say that there really were some nice exhibits out there.  I don’t think I really took note enough to devote a full blog post to everything I did like, but here are a few tidbits that I did pick up as a result of browsing at the event.

I picked up a few pieces Elle Kirshner’s Second Spaces; she brought these fabulous drafting desks and vanities – each set is highly detailed with little incedentals that a discerning homeowner will really appreciate.

The drafting table comes with a small light, blueprints, notebook and animated stool – with working and spinning animations – really quite cute!

The vanities come in three colours – blue, green and pink.  I had some trouble deciding which i wanted, but all of Elle’s designs are really affordable at $150L ea, so I picked up one of each, and the funds from the pink one went to RFL.It’s got neat little makeup tidbits and you can add your own photos to it by control+dragging your snapshots on top of the existing photos.  The stool’s also got a nice animated pose.

I also picked up this snazzy sculpted chair from Gospel Voom’s exhibit.  It’s a ‘MC-Rosewood’ ‘Keeler’ chair, and was available as a RFL donation gift. It’s got 2 poses for girls and 2 poses for guys, plus a ‘keeler’ pose (seen on the right, below).  The chairs a bit big for me – however, at my 5’4″ prim height, most furniture is.  I really do like the simple design though. It’s quite nice for those looking for a modern, low prim chair for most situations.

Other eyecatchers included Another Man’s Treasure, Barnesworth Anubis, A Take on Simplicity.
