New release, Sept 20, and update on gift cards

Hi Folks!

Thanks for your patience over the past couple of weeks in regards to the vendors.

Switching to the new vendor system was less painful than expected, but I’m still ironing out some final details.  All vendors should be operational though.  Gift certificates for the new system are now available – as a reminder, any old gift certificates sold prior to September 2010 are now invalid. If you’d like to redeem them, you’ll need to IM me (Aki Shichiroji) and drop the gift card on me in-world so that I can give you an equivalent (and valid) one.  Please note – from now on, all gift certificates are valid for 365 days from first point of use. These cards will not be renewed or extended beyond this length of time.

bristlecone2-vendor

As promised, a new item is now available; This post’s update is Bristlecone Pine #2 – it’s a great compliment to the original Bristlecone Pine and will lend itself well to a boreal forest environment.  It comes green, frosted or snowy, in sizes small, medium and large. Texture change editions are also included.

Of note: recent announcements regarding the impending mesh beta have likely reached your eyes recently. I’m really looking forward to being able to provide new and more efficient products. Despite argument from a few parties otherwise, mesh promises to really be a game-changer as far as content is concerned. I think we can all look forward to new and interesting things in all sectors.

I’ll be mostly away this week due to some work commitments, but hope to sit down and work on new stuff soon.  If there’s something in particular you think might be neat to see at Organica, shoot me an IM or notecard and let me know – now’s a great time.

Photo Contest!

takingpictureAs part of the fun going on at Organica this month, I’m please to announce Organica’s first ever photo contest!

The Basics:

– Submit up to three (3) of your best photos taken in Organica Sim.

This contest is FREE to enter and the first, second and third place winners will receive the following prizes:

1st place: L$10,000 prize

2nd place: L$5,000 prize

3rd place: L$2,500 prize

– Contest ENDS at 12 Midnight, April 21, 2010

– Photos will be judged by three independent, impartial judges, and winners announced no later than  12 Midnight, May 1, 2010.

The Details:

– Photos must be sent to organicaphotocontest2010@spacylittlecowgirl.otherinbox.com no later than 12 midnight, Wednesday April 21, 2010.

– Photos can feature anything as long as they are recognizably taken in Organica, don’t contain adult content and are not defamatory in any way to any party or individual.

– Each contestant must submit ONLY photos of their own creation.

– Each contestant will be entitled to win only one of the three prizes, despite entry of several photos. The allowance for up to three photos gives entrants the opportunity to display the breadth of their work and allows the judges a larger pool to pick from. The selection of one photo for a prize will immediately invalidate the contestant from any other prize. This is to keep the contest fair and fun, while allowing folks the freedom to display their creative ability.

– By entering this contest, you consent to the publication of the photo (attributed to you) on the Organica blog, in Organica’s Flickr Contest pool, and in-world. All intellectual property will be respected and the photo will not be used in any way shape or form except to discuss the contest.

– There are vendors on the grounds, situated near some items. You will not be expected to photograph these – in fact I would encourage you not to. You can remove these vendors from view prior to taking your snapshot by opening up your Advanced menu (if you don’t have it revealed already, it’s control+alt+shift+d on a PC and command+alt+shift+d on a Mac), select Rendering>Hide Selected.  Then right click>edit each prim from the vendor (there are usually 5 in total) to erase them from view on your screen.

– Photo-editing IS permitted as long as the content is recognizably taken on Organica sim. Understandably, not all viewpoints and shots will be optimal and you may wish to tweak your visual treatments.  This is fine!

Updates, fixes and news!

Updates and Fixes
Mod/Copy Owners of the Cherry Trees 1 & 2, Japanese Maple 1 and Spruce 2 will have received updates to their products this week. These updates include some feature updating, bug fixing, and expansion of available sizing, depending on which set you bought.

Mod/Transfer Owners who wish to update must send their mod/transfer editions of these trees to me (Aki Shichiroji) in a folder clearly marked with their name in ALL CAPS. I will send the appropriate replacement as soon as possible.

Visit Organica this week at the Home, Garden and Patio Expo!

Ok, so most of the build is on the ground and walkable – Organica is located at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Iridium/61/64/60 .  I’ll be out most of today, so unable to change much, but still havea buncha stuff i need to fix/add/make.  Expect more updates about RFL here, however if you haven’t picked up your RFL tulips, this would be an ideal opportunity!

Organica Trees part of “MidSummer Night’s Dream” production

Aug 15, 16, 17, Ivy Falls Talent is playing sold out shows of their production of Shakespeare’s ‘A MidSummer Night’s Dream’. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be included in the group of folks who donated stuff to their set decoration, which is fabulous – all put together by Rekka Berchot.

I have to say I really never anticipated seeing my work in such a professionally put together production, and I really hope things go well for them.

I was kinda slow on the uptake to get tickets though… so I don’t think I’ll be able to attend.

Grand opening of new sim and Organica’s new main store!

All are welcome to attend the Grand Opening of my new (and first evar!!) sim, Sylvan! The island will be host to a number of things, but for now just the ground level, which will be an immense outdoor area, as well as the new main location for my tree store, Organica! Festivities will begin at 9AM and run until 4PM, Saturday August 2, 2008, and will include DJ sets as well as a live performance by singer/songwriter Wendy Curtiss! (This to be updated as I get more info) There will be a number of freebies available throughout the sim, as well as custom catches exclusive to the Sylvan sim through our 7Seas fishing spot! This event is very casual, outdoors, and you may even want to bring along swimming gear to best take advantage of what this sim has to offer! It will also continually be added to, so if you can’t make it, feel free to drop by any time you can just to explore and hang out. Feel free to give me a shout if you have any questions; I really hope you can make it!

Back in action

I finally have internet service at home again, after a little over three weeks of waiting for Bell Sympatico to get off their collective duff and actually deliver as promised.  After being told for the third time that our modem would be in our hands in 5-7 days (after having waited that amount of time before asking, of course) and that only after that would they be able to book a technician to set things up, we bit the bullet and cancelled the order, opting to go with Rogers instead, even though they had inferior upload for the same price (which was the main thing i’d been after).  I’ve also always had issues with cable since it can get sluggish when too many people in the neighborhood are using it.  I don’t know…  we’ll see how things go.  We’re on a month to month plan, fortunately, so we may well go back to Bell if we find Rogers’ service is just not working out.

In any case, we’re about 60% moved in… and I’m pretty confident I’ve dealt with all remaining inquiries.  If I haven’t gotten to you yet, please email me at aki.shichiroji (a t ) gmail.com and I will be happy to help.

Pending limited customer service availability

Beginning May 16, I will be undergoing a move across the country.  While I may have limited access during that time, I cannot guarantee immediate response to inquiries until such time that I regain internet access at home.  If you need to get in contact with me, please IM me or drop me a notecard and I will get back to you at my earliest opportunity.

4 new releases from Organica

School has ended, thus leaving me with a bit of extra time on my hands!

As a result, I’ve taken the opportunity to update Organica with a few new products you might be interested in.

A new oak is now available! Just under 20m tall, this tree comes both mod/no copy/transfer and mod/copy/no transfer, in two versions: One has no poses and is completely moddable for your resizing convenience. The other has three poses inset in various locations, however it is not moddable due to the sit targets it’s been given.

A second willow is now available! It’s about 15m tall and features all new textures and flexible prims to recreate the flowing nature of willow foliage. It comes both mod/no copy/transfer and mod/copy/no transfer.

Low prim sculpted grass is now available! This package comes copy/mod/no transfer ONLY, and includes 3 varieties of grasses in 5 colours each. Landscape your land with natural looking grasses for low prim cost!

Finally, by popular demand, a version of ‘Fountain 1’ has been changed up a bit and is now available as ‘Fountain 1 redux’ for those who would prefer a fountain that goes in the opposite direction.

Everything’s viewable at Organica’s main store, located here.
